Angus McCrady

Business Owner

Growing up in a small community deeply connected to mining and forestry, I developed a strong love for nature and its resources. With over 7 years in the industry, I’m proud to hold certifications as a Certified Arborist and a Forestry Ecosystem Management Technician in Ontario.

My journey has allowed me to work closely with NAN (Nishnawbe Aski Nation) and other northern First Nation communities, where I’ve had the privilege of training indigenous youth in forestry skills and chainsaw safety. It’s not just a job for me; it’s a way to give back to my people. By immersing myself in forestry activities, I aim to support the upcoming generation of indigenous youth, helping them discover and achieve their full potential. Together, let’s build a brighter future for our communities and the precious natural resources we cherish

What does Mitigoog mean?

In Oji-Cree, Mitigoog means "Trees," and our motto is "Starting at the Roots." My solution is to bring tree services, training and knowledge to communities where people have deep roots, as well as to work on developing the capacity of youth within those communities."- Angus McCrady

Mitigoog Solutions

The name and logo of Mitigoog Solutions were inspired by time spent working in First Nation Northern communities providing training services through projects. The training covered saw-milling and tree harvesting, as well as developing safe work practises. The feathers represent the close relationship that First Nations peoples have with Mother Nature, as well as the importance of the forest to our way of life. The forest can be used for a variety of purposes, including providing heat, providing wood for homes and tools, and providing medicinal benefits. Trees also provide opportunities for economic growth, educational opportunities, and wildlife habitat. By starting at the roots of the tree or the community, we are able to find solutions to strengthen our communities and plan for the future.
